Galaxy Digital Secures Conditional ERCOT Approval for 4.2 GW Texas Load

The classification follows a directive from the Governor of Texas and subsequent intervention by the Public Utility Commission, which granted ERCOT exceptions to audit data center projects within the interconnection queue. Among the projects, Helios I and Helios II—totaling 1,630 megawatts—retain their status as Base Load, meaning they remain outside further capacity allocation requirements and stay on track for a 2028 energization.

Conversely, the Caspian, Selene, and Helios III projects, representing a combined 2,600 megawatts, have been conditionally classified as Studied Load. While Galaxy initially submitted the 700-megawatt Caspian project as Base Load, it is now subject to the ongoing ERCOT study process. Galaxy maintains that its broader development pipeline, now exceeding 5.7 gigawatts across four sites, remains viable as it navigates these regulatory reviews. The company will manage all retail electricity service agreements for these facilities, integrating power costs into its client hosting and lease arrangements.
