BNK Investment & Securities pivots to cultural tokenization

BNK Investment & Securities has entered a strategic partnership with fintech firm EverTreasure to develop tokenized financial products backed by films, live performances, and fine art. This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between traditional asset management and blockchain-based fractional ownership ahead of South Korea's regulatory launch.

The partnership divides operational responsibilities to navigate the upcoming market transition. BNK Investment & Securities will manage the issuance, regulatory compliance, and investor recruitment, while EverTreasure provides the underlying blockchain infrastructure and asset sourcing. By leveraging EverTreasure’s experience with its existing YEATU platform—which currently manages over 260 million won in cultural assets—the companies intend to offer high-net-worth and institutional clients specialized access to intellectual property-backed securities.

This move aligns with South Korea’s broader legislative shift, as the country prepares to implement a formal framework for tokenized securities on February 4, 2027. Following the 2026 amendments to the Capital Markets Act, major brokerages have been aggressively building out technical capabilities to meet new compliance standards. BNK is already participating in Koscom’s joint issuance project, and this new agreement with EverTreasure represents a targeted expansion into niche cultural assets. Beyond domestic offerings, the firms are exploring international distribution, seeking to export their tokenized content models to global markets.
