MSA Safety Debuts Connected Gas and Fall Protection at NSC 2026

The centerpiece of the company's showcase is the ALTAIR io 6 Multigas Detector, a cellular-connected unit featuring an integrated pump for confined space monitoring. By syncing with the MSA Grid cloud platform, the device provides safety managers with real-time visibility into worker status and fleet maintenance, alongside the existing ALTAIR io 4 wearable. Both devices utilize XCell sensor technology to automate data collection and over-the-air software updates.

Beyond gas detection, MSA is highlighting its V-SERIES fall protection line and the V-Gard H2 Full Brim Safety Helmet. The new helmet meets ANSI Type II certification, incorporating an integrated chinstrap to defend against lateral impacts while maintaining compatibility with the firm’s established accessory ecosystem. These products aim to balance compliance requirements with worker comfort, reducing the need for frequent equipment adjustments throughout a shift.
