The current historic banking hall will be repurposed by The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, which is moving into the space to position its students near the city's major legal firms. Huntington sold the building to Downtown Columbus, Inc. as part of this transition. To honor the site's heritage, the law school plans to preserve architectural elements of the original branch, including the former office of founder P.W. Huntington and the historic teller line.

Huntington Bank to Shift Iconic Columbus Branch to New Broad and High Site
After 160 years at the intersection of Broad and High, Huntington Bank is relocating its historic downtown Columbus branch to a modern storefront within the same 17 S. High St. building. The transition, slated for summer 2027, marks a shift toward updated facilities while keeping the bank at the city's core.
Sue Zazon, Huntington’s Central Ohio Regional President, noted that the move brings the bank physically closer to its original 1866 headquarters location. Despite the change in footprint, the bank intends to maintain its full suite of personal and business services at the new street-level storefront. The existing branch will remain fully operational until the new facility is ready for customers in 2027.
