Xactus Scales Credit Scoring Support Following GSE Policy Shift

Mortgage lenders now have broader latitude in credit assessment as Xactus expands its verification platform to include VantageScore 4.0. Following the September 9 expansion by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the fintech firm is positioning its infrastructure to handle a multi-score environment across the lending industry.

Xactus Scales Credit Scoring Support Following GSE Policy Shift

Under the updated guidelines, lenders can select either Classic FICO or VantageScore 4.0 on a loan-by-loan basis without seeking prior written approval. The policy requires that a single model be applied to all borrowers on a specific loan, while manually underwritten mortgages remain tethered to the Classic FICO standard. Xactus president Shelley Leonard noted that the shift from planning to execution requires lenders to maintain flexibility in their underwriting workflows and internal system configurations.

Beyond current GSE offerings, Xactus is preparing for the Federal Housing Administration's January 1, 2027, deadline, which will mandate the integration of alternative credit models. The firm is also positioning its Intelligent Verification Platform, Xactus360, to support FICO Score 10T once those models become available for GSE delivery. As the industry moves toward a multi-score framework, Xactus is providing clients with direct access to updated policies and technical implementation guidance through its dedicated resource center.
