ZAP Engineering Marks 25 Years of Industrial Growth

From a modest three-person office in Denver to a national multidisciplinary firm, ZAP Engineering & Construction Services is marking its 25th anniversary. The milestone coincides with the launch of a redesigned corporate website, reflecting the company's shift from niche process engineering to full-scale EPC project delivery.

ZAP Engineering Marks 25 Years of Industrial Growth

Steve Tzap founded the firm on July 1, 2001, targeting a specific gap in process and controls expertise during a turbulent period for the midstream market. The company’s trajectory shifted significantly in 2010 when it took on its first end-to-end engineering, procurement, and construction contract for two compressor stations. Delivering those projects on time and within budget provided the blueprint for the organization’s expansion into power generation, mining, and advanced materials.

Today, the company employs over 200 people with a footprint spanning Denver, Houston, and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The new digital platform at zapecs.com serves as a chronicle of this evolution, detailing the firm's transition from its technical roots to its current capacity for managing complex industrial projects from conceptual design through to commissioning.
