PS Seasoning Debuts Meat Kits to Simplify Home Processing

With hunting season approaching, Wisconsin-based PS Seasoning has released four new pre-portioned meat processing kits. Designed to remove the complexity of sourcing and measuring ingredients, the collection aims to help novices produce consistent, professional-grade sausage, jerky, and bacon batches from their own kitchens using beef, pork, or wild game.

The new lineup includes a Fresh Italian Sausage Kit, a Pepperoni Snack Stick Kit, a Smoked Maple Bacon Kit, and a Candied Jalapeño Jerky Kit. Prices range from $11.99 to $29.99, with each set providing the necessary seasonings, cures, and casings to process between 15 and 25 pounds of meat. By standardizing the ratios, the company hopes to lower the barrier to entry for home crafters who previously found formulation and food safety requirements daunting.

Stephanie Neu, a Master Meat Crafter at PS Seasoning, noted that the kits serve as a bridge between amateur enthusiasm and professional techniques. The company, which has operated since 1977, leverages the expertise of four certified Master Meat Crafters to ensure the recipes mirror commercial standards. Beyond these kits, the firm recently introduced a free online Meat Block Calculator, allowing users to input raw meat weights to receive precise measurements for seasoning and curing.

This release arrives as consumer interest in home-processed protein continues to rise. According to the 2026 Power of Meat report, nearly half of American shoppers are actively seeking ways to prepare more meat and poultry at home. The kits are available starting September 15 via the company’s website and select retail partners, expanding PS Seasoning’s catalog to 27 distinct processing options.
