Clear Channel Outdoor Returns to Manage Pensacola Airport Advertising

Pensacola International Airport has tapped Clear Channel Outdoor to overhaul its advertising concession, ending an eight-year stretch of in-house management. The partnership aims to modernize the terminal’s media infrastructure as the facility prepares for a major $165 million expansion slated for completion in early 2028.

Clear Channel Outdoor Returns to Manage Pensacola Airport Advertising

Following a competitive bidding process, the airport selected the firm to deploy a suite of high-tech media assets across its terminals. Clear Channel Outdoor previously held the contract until 2012 and now returns to manage the hub, which serves as a primary commercial gateway for the Gulf Coast and handles over 3.1 million passengers annually.

The initiative is designed to integrate seamlessly with the airport’s upcoming terminal expansion, which will add five gates to the existing 12-gate facility. Morten Gotterup, president of Clear Channel Outdoor’s Airports Division, noted that the upgrade will introduce dynamic, technology-driven formats—including LED video walls, digital concourse networks, and immersive branded environments—to replace legacy displays. Airport Executive Director Matt Coughlin stated that the firm’s vision for innovative advertising aligns with the airport’s broader goal of elevating the passenger experience during this period of rapid regional growth.
