PRRS Challenges MPS Patent Claims at NPA Conference

Amid the 2026 National Parking Association Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, Parking Revenue Recovery Services, Inc. has moved to counter recent claims made by MPS regarding ongoing patent litigation. The company is publicly disputing the validity of multiple patents while pursuing a countersuit for unfair competition.

PRRS Challenges MPS Patent Claims at NPA Conference

The legal friction centers on a 2025 complaint filed by MPS, which remains stayed while the United States Patent & Trademark Office evaluates the underlying claims. To date, the USPTO has issued Final Rejections for four of the five patents originally asserted by MPS, citing substantial questions of patentability that were not previously considered. These include U.S. Patent Nos. 11,257,302, 11,688,205, 12,142,085, and 12,249,187.

Despite these rejections, MPS initiated a new complaint in July 2026 involving a sixth patent, U.S. Patent No. 11,688,734. PRRS responded in August by filing for a reexamination of this latest patent. Beyond the validity challenges, PRRS maintains that its operations do not infringe on any of the patents held by MPS. The company has filed a comprehensive countersuit against MPS and Premium Parking, alleging civil conspiracy, intentional interference with contract, and federal unfair competition. PRRS intends to pursue these remedies if the 2025 case is ever reopened by the court.
