Daxko Acquires Alaris to Automate Childcare Compliance
Birmingham-based software provider Daxko has acquired Alaris, a specialized platform designed to manage the complexities of childcare compliance within fitness and wellness centers. The move aims to replace manual tracking systems with integrated tools for monitoring staff-to-child ratios, meal programs, and state-mandated licensing requirements for YMCAs and health clubs.
Daxko CEO Jeff VanDixhorn noted that the acquisition is intended to reduce administrative burdens, freeing staff to prioritize child safety and engagement. Alaris will retain its standalone functionality for those using third-party management systems, while also being integrated natively into Daxko’s suite of products, including Club Automation and FitnessForce. This integration enables automated enforcement of staff-to-child ratios and streamlined reporting for state agencies. The combined teams are scheduled to demonstrate the new unified capabilities at the YMCA of the USA’s General Assembly in New Orleans this September.
