Artisanal PV Launches Knowledge Is Power Campaign for Public Schools

With the new academic year underway, Newark-based solar startup Artisanal PV has partnered with the nonprofit Donors Choose to fund classroom supplies. Founder Ken Fields is directing the initiative toward STEM programs and underserved classrooms, bridging the gap between the company’s pre-launch phase and immediate community support.

Artisanal PV Launches Knowledge Is Power Campaign for Public Schools

While Artisanal PV prepares to bring its flagship residential solar carports to market, the company is bypassing typical corporate sales-based donation models. Instead, Fields is leveraging personal and professional networks to provide direct financial backing to teachers who have historically relied on their own pockets to stock their classrooms. This effort aligns with the company’s broader mission to power the next generation, both through upcoming solar technology and direct educational investment.

Donors Choose, which has facilitated classroom funding since 2000, provides the digital infrastructure for this campaign. Artisanal PV has established an 'Our Impact' page to track these contributions as the company moves toward its own production milestones, including the anticipated launch of its solar racking systems in late 2026 and initial deliveries slated for the spring of 2027.
