Varun Bisht Tapped to Lead Governance and Compliance at Casepoint

Bisht joins the legal technology provider after a four-year tenure at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, where he served as Deputy Chief for Information and Privacy Governance. His mandate at Casepoint focuses on bridging the gap between innovation and risk management, specifically through the development of transparent AI governance and the strengthening of data privacy controls for sensitive government environments.

CEO Paul Colangelo noted that Bisht’s background—which includes leadership roles at Amazon and Verizon, alongside eight years of service in the U.S. Army—provides the necessary perspective to manage high-stakes, mission-critical operations. In his new capacity, Bisht will work across product, legal, and security divisions to ensure that Casepoint’s cloud-native eDiscovery and investigations platform evolves in alignment with shifting regulatory requirements and the rising demand for auditable, human-in-the-loop AI systems.
