Bruce Bolt Targets Gridiron Market With New Grip Technology

Austin-based sports brand Bruce Bolt is set to enter the football market on October 12, introducing a performance-driven system that links high-end skill gloves with the industry's first SFIA-approved tackified arm sleeve to provide athletes with three distinct grip points from palm to bicep.

Bruce Bolt Targets Gridiron Market With New Grip Technology

The new BOLTGRIP SYSTEM™ marks a significant expansion for the company, which previously established its reputation by redesigning the batting glove market. Founder and CEO Bear Mayer noted that the development process mirrors the brand's earlier success in baseball, emphasizing anatomical fit and premium materials to solve common equipment failures. The skill gloves feature conical finger stalls to reduce twisting and a structured-lattice back of hand for stability, while the accompanying arm sleeves offer 15 mmHg graduated compression alongside their tackified surface.

By securing Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) approval, Bruce Bolt ensures its gear meets rigorous standards for tackiness and sanctioned play. This technical edge has already attracted high-profile young talent, including top-ranked cornerback Donte Wright and standout running back Carter Nash. The gloves will retail between $65 and $85, with the arm sleeves priced at $60 per pair. The products represent a strategic pivot for the brand, applying lessons learned from baseball and golf to one of the largest participation sports in the United States.
