Niobrara Capital Acquires Canadian IT Giant MSP Corp

After a four-year consolidation strategy, Alfar Capital, Walter Capital Partners, and BDC Capital have sold MSP Corp. to New York-based Niobrara Capital. The deal marks the successful transformation of a regional Quebec-based IT provider into a dominant national platform serving over 2,300 clients across Canada.

Niobrara Capital Acquires Canadian IT Giant MSP Corp

The acquisition concludes an aggressive growth plan initiated in 2022, when Alfar and Walter Capital acquired the original business, Groupe Access. By executing five strategic acquisitions, the firm evolved from a local Quebec player into a pan-Canadian entity with operations spanning from British Columbia to Quebec. The business now integrates 20 distinct providers under a unified brand, service catalogue, and delivery model.

Under the leadership of CEO Habib Malik, who will remain in his role under Niobrara’s ownership, the company has established a significant footprint in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. The platform currently employs approximately 500 professionals across 12 offices. According to Fares Kabbani, founder of Alfar Capital, the sale provides Niobrara with a ready-made entry point into the North American managed services market, supported by a professionalized infrastructure that includes standardized KPI reporting and a centralized sales organization. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
