The rollout of Agent ONE marks a shift in how Trip.Biz, the business travel division of Trip.com Group, handles the inherent complexities of the APAC market. CEO Tao Song argued that existing travel management models often fail because they lack the necessary balance between local expertise and global consistency. The new platform replaces traditional, friction-heavy workflows with four distinct AI agents: Planning, Booking, Approval, and Insight.
These tools address specific bottlenecks in the corporate travel chain. The Booking Agent, for instance, transitions users from a standard 45-minute booking process to a two-minute conversational flow. Simultaneously, the Approval Agent reduces administrative latency by automating low-risk requests, cutting wait times from over an hour to under three seconds. By integrating these functions into a single digital ecosystem, the company intends to reduce travel program leakage—where employees bypass authorized systems to book trips independently.
