The 2026 exploration program utilized 17 core drill holes to probe the so-called Whistler Orbit, a cluster of porphyry deposits that serves as the cornerstone of the company’s regional strategy. While the project currently holds a combined 10.38 million ounces of gold equivalent in indicated and inferred resources, management is looking to prove that the surrounding land holds significant untapped potential. CEO Tim Smith stated the operation finished on schedule and within budget, with crews now shifting focus to core logging and assay analysis.

U.S. GoldMining Wraps Record Alaska Exploration Program
U.S. GoldMining has concluded its most expansive drilling effort to date at the Whistler Gold-Copper Project in Alaska, completing 7,493 meters of core drilling. The campaign focused on testing ten high-priority target areas across the 53,700-acre site to identify new porphyry systems and expand existing mineralized zones.

Investors are currently weighing the results of a preliminary economic assessment released in March 2026, which projected an after-tax NPV of $2.04 billion. That assessment, however, relied exclusively on the primary Whistler deposit. By exploring additional zones like Island Mountain, Muddy Creek, and Long Lake Hills, the company aims to demonstrate that the broader district can support a much larger development footprint. Initial assay results from the summer field season are expected to be released throughout the remainder of the year.
