The proposed venue represents a significant expansion of the NYSE’s digital infrastructure, which first emerged in early 2024. By integrating its Pillar matching engine with onchain settlement systems, the exchange intends to support trading at any hour, allowing for dollar-denominated orders and immediate execution. While the agreement establishes a potential distribution route, the project remains in the development phase and requires pending regulatory approvals before it can launch.
For Blockchain.com, the deal serves as a strategic bridge between its existing crypto ecosystem and traditional equity markets. CEO Peter Smith noted that the connection could extend tokenized stock access across the company's network, which spans more than 70 jurisdictions. The partnership also includes a data-sharing component: ICE Data Services will incorporate Blockchain.com’s crypto analytics, while Blockchain.com will integrate real-time stock feeds from ICE and the NYSE into its application for its 44 million confirmed accounts.
