The Board of Trustees initiated this consolidation to reduce administrative frictions often linked to lower-priced securities and to improve the fund's appeal across various investment platforms. While the number of outstanding shares will decrease, the transaction is designed to remain neutral regarding a shareholder's total investment value. Net asset value and market price per share will adjust accordingly, but the underlying investment strategy and proportional ownership remain unchanged.

Aberdeen Government Markets Income Fund Sets 1-for-5 Reverse Stock Split
Every five common shares of the Aberdeen Government Markets Income Fund will consolidate into one under a new reverse stock split approved by the Board of Trustees. The move, effective before trading begins on October 8, 2026, aims to elevate the fund's per-share market price to align with industry trading standards.
Investors will see the fund continue to trade under the ticker symbol MGF on the New York Stock Exchange, though a new CUSIP number will be assigned. The fund’s managed distribution policy stays in effect at an annual rate of 7.25% of average monthly net asset value. While the per-share distribution amount is expected to rise proportionally to reflect the lower share count, the aggregate payout level remains consistent. Shareholders with brokerage accounts will have their holdings adjusted automatically, while those holding physical certificates should coordinate with the transfer agent, Computershare Trust Company, N.A.
