Yandangshan Geopark Forges New International Ties in Malaysia
At the 9th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium in Malaysia, China’s Yandangshan UNESCO Global Geopark solidified its global reach by signing cooperation agreements with counterparts from South Korea and Indonesia, bringing the site's total network of international sister geoparks to eight.
Beyond the signing ceremonies, the Yandangshan team utilized the platform to showcase regional achievements in community empowerment and business innovation. The exhibition booth highlighted Yueqing’s local products, including Yandang Maofeng tea, alongside educational materials designed to promote the park’s geological heritage. During the event, Yandangshan officially received its Global Geoparks Network membership certificate, marking its integration into a collective focused on innovative geotourism and shared environmental stewardship.
