Chris Parsons Joins Rethink Retail to Lead Audience Strategy

With over two decades of experience spanning Walmart.ca and Home Hardware, Chris Parsons has been appointed Vice President of Audience at Rethink Retail. This newly created role tasks the veteran retail strategist with unifying the company’s fragmented media, research, and event ecosystems into a cohesive experience for industry professionals.

Chris Parsons Joins Rethink Retail to Lead Audience Strategy

Parsons steps into the position following a recent rebranding of the platform, which now centers on the philosophy that retail challenges require collaborative, cross-functional solutions. His mandate is to bridge the gap between Rethink Retail’s editorial output, executive communities, and strategic partnerships. By integrating these disparate channels, the company aims to transform isolated interactions into a continuous dialogue for its members.

His background in both national retail chains and independent dealer networks informs his approach to the industry. Having navigated the complexities of omnichannel execution at Home Hardware and the digital launch of Walmart.ca, Parsons emphasizes that successful strategy must remain grounded in store-level operations. CEO Marie Chevrier Schwartz noted that his ability to connect theory with practical operator needs is central to the company’s growth objectives.

Beyond his professional history, Parsons brings a significant existing footprint to the role. He currently reaches over 24,000 followers on LinkedIn and operates the Retail Rewired Roundup newsletter. His work on the AI Moment of Discovery framework and his authorship of the book Retail Rewired align with Rethink Retail’s goal of providing actionable insights rather than industry platitudes. As the firm scales its executive communities in supply chain, retail media, and AI, Parsons will focus on ensuring every interaction provides tangible value to the network’s participants.
