As part of the company's annual October campaign, the mascot is now serving as an advocate for breast health, urging women to prioritize screenings and self-awareness in the fight against cancer.

The rebranding marks a departure from traditional marketing for Chiquita Brands International, which is expanding its "Small Change, Big Difference" initiative alongside the American Cancer Society. According to the ACS, one in eight women in the U.S. will face an invasive breast cancer diagnosis during their lifetime, a statistic that drives the company’s decision to move beyond mere product placement. The campaign features a hero video where the animated icon transitions into a human persona, demonstrating a specific hand-over-chest gesture intended to remind consumers to monitor their own health.

Beyond the digital narrative, the company is reviving its signature pink sticker on millions of bananas distributed globally throughout October. Andre Quadra, Chiquita’s head of North American marketing, stated that the shift aims to turn a familiar brand symbol into a more relatable advocate. The initiative is supported by a series of global activations, including educational content, retail displays, and continued financial and organizational support for health-focused nonprofits. By leveraging its supply chain reach, the brand hopes to normalize early detection conversations that remain a critical component of breast cancer prevention.
