Wisconsin Honors 25 Years of Energy Efficiency Progress
Governor Tony Evers gathered at the State Capitol on September 29 to commemorate the silver anniversary of Focus on Energy, a statewide program that has spent two decades helping residents and businesses cut utility costs. The ceremony recognized four diverse champions who transformed energy conservation into a core operational standard.
Other honorees include David Leeder, a veteran of the paper industry who spearheaded 60 energy-saving initiatives, and the Chippewa Falls-based On Site Performance Testing, which has assisted 12,000 homeowners in optimizing residential comfort. Managing Director Erin Soman noted that the program’s longevity relies on a network of utilities and partners willing to embrace long-term efficiency over one-off fixes. These awardees exemplify a shift toward embedding energy management into daily business practice rather than treating it as a secondary concern.
