Seraplex Acquired by Prairie Capital in Healthcare Deal
California-based specialty blood products provider Seraplex has been acquired by private equity firm Prairie Capital. The transaction, which aims to integrate Seraplex into a broader consortium of biospecimen companies, was facilitated by the healthcare-focused investment bank WaveEdge Capital, acting as the exclusive sell-side advisor.
Rose Maljanian, Managing Director at WaveEdge, noted that the integration of Seraplex with Prairie Capital’s existing portfolio creates a significant suite of resources for the biopharmaceutical sector. Chicago-based Prairie Capital specializes in scaling founder-owned businesses, intending to leverage its multi-sector expertise to accelerate the growth of its new acquisition. The WaveEdge deal team, led by Maljanian and John Selig, managed the transaction as part of their ongoing focus on the life sciences and healthcare lower middle market.
