HydroEdge Solutions and RES Water Merge to Dominate Appalachian Water

With 700,000 barrels of storage and daily processing capacity hitting 116,000 barrels, the newly formed WET Tech has consolidated two major water management players. The acquisition of Reserved Environmental Services by HydroEdge Solutions creates a full-cycle service provider spanning the Marcellus and Utica shale regions across three states.

HydroEdge Solutions and RES Water Merge to Dominate Appalachian Water

The merger unites HydroEdge’s logistics and automation technology with the extensive treatment and storage infrastructure of RES Water. Operating five facilities throughout Pennsylvania, the combined platform provides natural gas producers a single-point solution for the entire water lifecycle, from on-pad management to recycling and disposal. The workforce now totals 350 employees, supported by an automation-enabled trucking network designed to cover the entire basin.

Matt Brewer, CEO of the combined entity, noted that the move mirrors the consolidation trends seen among exploration and production operators in the region. By integrating these assets, the company aims to reduce the total cost per barrel for clients while lowering emissions through increased water reuse and minimized trucking distances. Financing for the transaction was provided by a senior secured credit facility led by Atlantic Union Bank, alongside participating lenders EagleBank and Dollar Bank. While specific financial terms remain undisclosed, management has signaled intent to pursue further infrastructure expansion and bolt-on acquisitions to capture emerging opportunities in mineral extraction from produced water.
