Finzly Reaches Money20/20 Finals with BankOS Infrastructure

An independent panel of industry experts has named Charlotte-based Finzly a finalist for the 2026 Money20/20 Awards. The company earned its spot in the Banking category by positioning its BankOS platform as a modern infrastructure alternative to traditional legacy cores, standing out as the only modernization platform among 18 finalists.

The platform operates on a modular architecture, utilizing distinct "Galaxies" to manage everything from unified payment rails—including FedNow, RTP, and blockchain—to tokenized deposits and AI-driven agency functions. By functioning alongside a bank's existing core, the system allows institutions to migrate services in stages. This "surround-and-shrink" strategy aims to bypass the risks associated with full-scale core replacements, a process that historically takes years and carries significant operational uncertainty.

Finzly’s approach gained industry attention earlier this year when Metropolitan Commercial Bank successfully decommissioned its legacy ACH mainframe in favor of the BankOS system. For CEO Booshan Rengachari, the nomination validates the industry's shift away from rigid legacy constraints. The winners will be revealed during the Money20/20 USA event in Las Vegas on October 18, where the firm will compete for the top honor in the infrastructure subcategory.
