These new instruments provide economic exposure to a company’s common-share value rather than direct equity ownership. Holders receive no voting rights or shareholder privileges; instead, the notes track payouts realized during qualifying liquidity events, such as a company’s eventual IPO or a similar transaction. While the tokens are designed for round-the-clock trading, they remain strictly off-limits to U.S. persons to comply with regulatory requirements, operating separately from the firm's SEC-registered broker-dealer activities.

Ondo Finance launches tokenized exposure to private AI firms
Ondo Finance has introduced Ondo Private Markets, a platform allowing eligible non-U.S. investors to trade tokenized notes linked to the valuation of private companies. The service debuts this week with a focus on an unnamed pre-IPO artificial intelligence firm, enabling 24/7 secondary market trading for token holders.

Acting CEO Ian De Bode noted the product aims to bring private-market assets onto permissionless rails. Following the initial AI-focused offering, the firm plans to expand into sectors including robotics, cybersecurity, biotech, and space. This move marks a significant shift from Ondo's existing platform, which currently manages over $1.28 billion in tokenized public stocks and ETFs backed by cash and securities. Because the underlying private companies do not provide public disclosures, the firm emphasizes that investors must review specific subscription agreements and risk factors before participation.
