Orange County Public Sector Workers Launch Strike Over Labor Disputes
More than 465 Teamsters Local 952 members walked off the job across Orange County today, initiating an unfair labor practice strike after months of stalled contract negotiations. The work stoppage follows a controversial move by the Board of Supervisors to raise their own salaries by 25 percent while contract talks remained deadlocked.

Eric Jimenez, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 952, accused the county of bad-faith bargaining and a systematic disregard for the workforce. The union has filed official unfair labor practice charges, alleging the county failed to address core contract concerns. With 9,500 total members represented by the local chapter, the union leadership maintains that workers will remain off the job until the county commits to an agreement that reflects the value of their public service.
