The Lachowice-7 well, located within the Bielsko-Biala concession, showed signs of a highly permeable, naturally fractured reservoir during recent operations. Following a nitrified acid stimulation program, the well underwent a series of flow tests, culminating in a six-day main flow period. While initial cleanup and pre-main-flow tests yielded peak rates of 4.95 MMcf/d and 6.75 MMcf/d respectively, these short-term figures are not considered indicative of long-term stabilized production. During the main flow, rates started at 5 MMcf/d before stabilizing at 2.5 MMcf/d, aligning with the company’s internal performance forecasts.

Horizon Petroleum Eyes 2027 Production Start After Polish Gas Well Test
Horizon Petroleum has concluded flow testing at its Lachowice-7 well in southern Poland, marking a critical step in the company’s push toward commercial production. With the well now undergoing a 30-day pressure build-up analysis, the Calgary-based firm is accelerating plans to launch an Early Production Phase by late 2027.

Horizon Petroleum CEO David Winter stated that the successful testing represents a significant milestone in bringing the development to commercial viability. The company is currently evaluating data from the 30-day shut-in period to refine its reservoir models and optimize facility design. The proposed early production strategy centers on gas-to-power generation and potential compressed natural gas sales, pending regulatory approvals and necessary infrastructure investment. To date, the testing program has produced approximately 26.5 million cubic feet of gas and 170 barrels of condensate, providing the technical foundation for the next phase of field development.
