Cardano Faces 24% Downside Risk as Technical Signals Turn Bearish

Cardano has clawed back 3% to trade at $0.2235, yet a bearish flip in the SuperTrend indicator suggests the recovery may be fragile. Analyst Ali Martinez warns that a daily close below $0.21 could trigger a sharp decline toward $0.17, representing a potential 24% drop from current levels.

The SuperTrend indicator, a tool often used to gauge market momentum, has triggered a sell signal similar to one observed on May 22. That historical precedent preceded a 46% correction, fueling caution among traders. While Martinez notes that a breakdown is not yet confirmed, the cryptocurrency remains trapped below critical short-term moving averages. Specifically, the 9-day average sits at $0.2255, with the 21-day average at $0.2394, keeping selling pressure firmly in place.

Large-scale investors, or whales holding between 100 million and 1 billion ADA, have remained notably quiet over the past 10 days. This stability contrasts with a mid-October sell-off when significant reductions in whale holdings coincided with a 41% drop in daily active network addresses. Currently, the Relative Strength Index hovers at 44.35, indicating weak momentum without yet hitting oversold territory. For the bulls to regain control, ADA must clear the $0.2255 resistance level; otherwise, the $0.21 support floor remains the primary focus for market participants.
