Securitize Brings 12 Tokenized U.S. Stocks to Solana

Twelve major U.S. stocks, including Nvidia, Apple, and Tesla, are now available for trade on the Solana blockchain through Securitize. The platform confirms that each token maintains a one-for-one backing with physical shares, which the company states are held in segregated accounts and remain unlent to third parties.

Eligible investors in the United States and the European Union can access these products via Securitize Stocks, utilizing USDC for settlement. While the tokens provide security entitlements, they do not grant direct registration on the underlying company's shareholder books; investors must undergo a conversion process to become registered shareholders. The offering, which launched following an October 8 announcement, includes a roster featuring Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, and Palantir, with Jump Trading acting as the initial market maker.

Participation requires identity verification through the SEC-registered broker-dealer, Securitize Markets, LLC. Trading is currently limited to 24 hours a day, five days a week, though the platform signals potential for seven-day operations in the future. Unlike derivative-based models used by other platforms, Securitize emphasizes that its model allows for dividend distributions and participation in shareholder votes. However, the company notes that underlying issuers have not officially sponsored or endorsed these tokenized products, and users should remain aware that USDC holdings lack traditional FDIC or SIPC protections.
