Senator Steve Daines Backs Chainlink Ahead of Institutional Summit

Montana Senator Steve Daines has thrown his support behind Chainlink as the blockchain firm prepares for its Link:NYC summit on October 29. The event, which convenes major financial institutions, aligns with Daines' recent legislative push to modernize U.S. tax frameworks for digital assets and decentralized finance.

The upcoming New York gathering serves as a high-profile meeting point for executives from institutions like Swift, Citi, and Fidelity. Discussions will center on the practical integration of tokenized assets, stablecoin payments, and cross-chain interoperability into traditional market infrastructure. Chainlink, known for its oracle and interoperability protocols, has increasingly positioned itself as the connective tissue between legacy banking systems and blockchain networks.

This endorsement follows Daines' introduction of the ADAPT Act on October 22, a bill crafted alongside Senators Cynthia Lummis, Bernie Moreno, and Tim Scott. The proposed legislation aims to simplify tax reporting for digital asset transactions, specifically targeting stablecoin payments and staking activities that currently struggle under outdated tax codes. By advocating for clearer regulatory guidelines, Daines seeks to reduce the friction that prevents institutional entities from fully adopting blockchain technology.

Chainlink has spent recent months building out its network through strategic partnerships. Beyond the upcoming summit, the company recently launched its CustodySync service with Anchorage Digital and integrated its cross-chain technology with the Hong Kong Gold Exchange. These efforts, combined with ongoing pilot programs involving 17 global banks via Swift, underscore a broader industry trend toward merging decentralized infrastructure with established financial messaging standards.
