Anchorpoint Taps Solana to Scale HKDAP Stablecoin for Retail Use

Anchorpoint Financial is integrating its regulated Hong Kong dollar stablecoin, HKDAP, onto the Solana blockchain, marking a strategic move to transition the token from institutional-only use toward retail payments. The partnership aims to leverage Solana’s high-speed settlement infrastructure to support widespread tokenized asset trading and consumer-facing financial transactions.

The collaboration enables native minting and redemption of HKDAP directly on the Solana network. By tapping into Solana’s existing ecosystem of wallets and decentralized applications, Anchorpoint plans to expand the utility of its stablecoin beyond the current institutional distribution network. While the company has not yet set a formal launch date for retail access, the move signals a broader shift in Hong Kong’s regulated digital asset market toward consumer adoption.

Alongside the integration, the Solana Foundation will join Anchorpoint’s Tokenised Money Adoption Programme as a strategic partner, working alongside firms like PwC to foster research and development for stablecoin applications. Anchorpoint, a joint venture backed by Standard Chartered, HKT, and Animoca Brands, received its issuer license from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority in April 2026. The company currently utilizes a business-to-business-to-consumer model, requiring users to undergo verification procedures, a structure it intends to maintain as it scales.
