Owned by Eastern Pacific Shipping and constructed by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, the vessel represents a successful integration of Envision’s renewable energy supply chain. The fuel originates from the Chifeng Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Industrial Park in Inner Mongolia, a facility currently capable of producing 320,000 tons of green ammonia annually. The production process adheres to rigorous ISO standards, meeting both RFNBO and ISCC requirements for sustainability.

Envision Fuels World’s First Large Ammonia Carrier
The Terra Clove, the world’s first Very Large Ammonia Carrier equipped with dual-fuel propulsion, has completed its inaugural green ammonia bunkering. This milestone, achieved in South Korea, marks a pivotal shift in maritime logistics as the industry moves toward scalable, renewable alternatives to traditional marine fuels.

This deployment builds upon a February 2026 commercial shipment delivered to LOTTE Fine Chemical in Ulsan Port. According to Frank Yu, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy, this latest bunkering confirms that green ammonia is a technically viable marine fuel at scale. The Terra Clove utilizes a dual-fuel Everllence engine, allowing the ship to transition between conventional marine fuel and green ammonia to minimize lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions. With plans to expand the Chifeng facility’s capacity to 1.52 million tons, the project underscores a broader strategy to bridge the gap between renewable hydrogen synthesis and international shipping requirements.
