Reynolds joins Teneo from Deloitte, where he was National Practice Leader of the restructuring and insolvency practice and Lead Partner for the Americas region. His experience includes restructuring, insolvency and turnaround work, as well as advising boards and financial stakeholders on distressed companies, debt reorganizations, refinancings, acquisitions and divestitures.

Teneo said Reynolds has led major restructuring engagements, including cases involving large public companies with global operations. He has also advised Canadian financial institution regulators and led bank assessments covering liquidity, resolution and recovery, governance and controls. His work has included advising regulators on distressed institutions and resolution policy, and acting as a court-appointed Monitor or Receiver in shareholder disputes.

Daniel Butters, CEO of Teneo’s Financial Advisory business, called Canada an important market and said Reynolds’ experience would provide a foundation for building the team. Reynolds said he was looking forward to supporting the firm’s expansion and helping clients navigate a challenging business environment.

Teneo Global Vice-Chairman James Crossland said the new business could work alongside the firm’s established Strategy & Communications operation in Canada. Globally, Teneo’s Financial Advisory business has more than 600 professionals. The firm as a whole has more than 1,800 employees across more than 50 offices.
