Sahil shares chats alleging paid celebrity-token promotion

Screenshots and recordings published by Sahil Arora revive questions about promotion during the 2024 celebrity memecoin boom. He alleges influencers were paid and says arranging a filmed meeting with Caitlyn Jenner cost about $10,000, though the displayed conversations do not establish that figure or specify a token-promotion deal.

Arora posted the material on Nov. 7, presenting conversations he attributed to crypto personalities and people involved in celebrity appearances. The posts cover promotional tweets, access to celebrity accounts and plans for online audio events.

Screenshots attributed to Bark and dated May 27 and 28, 2024, discuss launch timing, promoting the Habibi community and bringing Iggy Azalea onto an X Space. Other messages concern the JENNER token. One reads, “been pushing $JENNER hard brother,” while another asks for engagement and a follow from Jenner’s account. The exchanges also discuss steering people toward favorable Spaces rather than events where the token was criticized. They show promotional coordination but include no explicit payment amount.

Arora paired the screenshots with a May 30, 2024, Bark post saying, “I work for no one,” and criticizing other participants in celebrity-token trading. He alleged that influencers who presented themselves as independent had been paid.

In a separate post, Arora said $10,000 could secure a tweet from Mario Nawfal. The recording frame shows an account labeled Nawfal, a transaction image and messages requesting a tweet; a later message suggests discussing other matters after it appeared. The visible exchange does not identify the token, requested post or commercial terms. Nawfal describes himself on his website as an entrepreneur, investor and media host.

A group chat titled “launch with Caitlyn” concerns a filmed meeting between Jenner and content creator Jakey, who publicly described it as a date in June 2024. Participants displayed as Jake Hillhouse and Sophia Hutchins discuss a preliminary call. Hutchins mentions posting a video on Jenner’s Instagram to address speculation that the account had been hacked; Hillhouse says payment could be made after the call. The messages propose a morning call but state neither a payment amount nor a token-promotion deliverable. Arora alleged that arranging the meeting cost about $10,000 and said he made the connection.

The disclosures revisit earlier disputes. Jason Derulo’s JASON token fell more than 72% within minutes of its June 23, 2024, announcement, according to crypto.news. Derulo blamed Arora for misleading him and said he had bought $20,000 worth of tokens. Azalea later distanced herself from Arora’s IGGY project while developing MOTHER, which she discussed using for phones and mobile subscriptions through Unreal Mobile. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission advises influencers to disclose financial or other material relationships tied to endorsements, including payments and benefits such as free products or services.
