Crescom Begins Pediatric AI Validation at Mass General Brigham

Seoul-based medical AI developer Crescom has launched a clinical proof-of-concept study at Mass General Brigham, testing its suite of pediatric musculoskeletal imaging tools. By evaluating three proprietary solutions against expert radiologist interpretations at the world-renowned Boston institution, the company aims to secure a foothold in the competitive U.S. clinical market.

The validation study focuses on the MediAI series, which includes an FDA-cleared bone age analysis tool, a lower-limb length measurement system, and an automated scoliosis severity assessment. Radiologists at Massachusetts General Hospital will compare these AI-generated readings against traditional clinical interpretations to assess accuracy and real-world utility. This project is positioned to address the increasing diagnostic bottlenecks in pediatric imaging caused by a shortage of specialists and rising patient volumes.

Beyond immediate clinical validation, Crescom intends to use the performance data to refine its tools for the North American market. CEO Jae Joon Lee stated that the results will serve as a foundation for broader expansion, with the company eyeing applications in the local youth athletic development sector. Supported by the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare, the collaboration marks a shift for Crescom as it transitions from domestic success to establishing a verified clinical track record within major U.S. academic healthcare systems.
