Wahl Clipper Corporation Appoints First Non-Family CEO
For the first time in its 107-year history, the family-owned grooming giant Wahl is turning to outside leadership. John J. Anton, Jr., a veteran consumer products executive, will take the helm as Chief Executive Officer on July 6, 2026, succeeding interim leader David Cybulski to steer the company’s global expansion.

Mary Gail Gearns, Chair of the Board and a third-generation member of the Wahl family, emphasized that the appointment signals a new chapter while maintaining the family’s long-term ownership and active involvement. Anton will report directly to the Board of Directors, focusing on global strategy and product innovation. Cybulski, who held the interim CEO role, will remain with the firm as Chief Financial Officer to assist with the leadership transition.
