California Credit Union Foundation Awards Scholarships to 20 Students

The foundation, which serves as the philanthropic arm of California Credit Union, selected the recipients based on their extracurricular contributions and scholastic performance. Among the honorees is Ashton Johnson, a graduate of Susan Miller Dorsey High School, who plans to study Business Management at Loyola Marymount University. Foundation President Marvel Ford noted that the organization remains motivated by the purpose these students bring to their local communities.

Since its inception in 2005, the scholarship program has distributed more than $485,000 to students throughout Southern California, including residents of San Diego, Riverside, and Ventura counties. The foundation operates as a non-profit, with all administrative costs covered by the parent credit union to ensure that 100% of donations are directed toward educational and community initiatives.
