The National Commission of Digital Assets (CNAD) registered two Bitfinex-linked entities, BFXNA and BFXWW, in late April under registrations PSAD-0082 and PSAD-0083. These approvals grant the exchange legal clearance to operate as a custodian, trade digital assets, and execute derivatives. This addition rounds out a structure that already included Bitfinex Securities and Bitfinex Derivatives, both of which gained individual approvals in late 2023 and early 2025, respectively.
Paolo Ardoino, chief technology officer at Bitfinex, stated that holding these licenses across all three business lines reflects a long-term commitment to operating under innovative local supervision. While the move provides a unified regulatory presence, the company emphasized that product access remains subject to internal compliance, customer eligibility, and specific geographical restrictions. U.S. persons and other prohibited users continue to face standard service exclusions despite the expanded local authorization.
