BioLab Study Links Placental-Based Membrane Wrap to Improved Ulcer Healing
Patients treated with BioLab Holdings’ Membrane Wrap™ achieved a 63.7% healing rate for complex pressure ulcers, significantly outperforming the 48.4% success rate observed in those receiving standard care alone, according to a recent peer-reviewed study published in the International Journal of Tissue Repair.
Marshall Medley, chief medical officer at BioLab, noted that real-world evidence remains vital for providers to evaluate treatment efficacy across diverse populations. This publication marks a shift in the Phoenix-based company's strategy, which has prioritized resource allocation toward clinical data collection over the past year. Beyond this pilot study, BioLab is currently enrolling participants for its CAMPR-II trial, focusing on next-generation products for diabetic foot and venous leg ulcers, while preparing to launch the BIOMOHS trial.
