Uniswap Retains DEX Dominance With $70 Billion Monthly Volume

Uniswap solidified its position as the leading decentralized exchange by processing over $70 billion in trading volume during the past month. According to data cited by the protocol, this figure surpasses the combined activity of its three closest competitors, marking a significant lead in the spot trading market.

Uniswap Retains DEX Dominance With $70 Billion Monthly Volume

The protocol’s performance is anchored by its multi-version architecture, with DeFiLlama data attributing roughly $38 billion to Uniswap v4 and $32 billion to v3. While the exact total fluctuates daily as older trading sessions exit the 30-day window, the aggregate remains substantially higher than the $38 billion milestone recorded by the platform in November 2024.

This growth is fueled by deployments across dozens of blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, and the recently integrated Robinhood Chain. While the protocol leads in spot volume, these figures do not represent direct revenue for Uniswap Labs or the governance treasury. Instead, fees are generated based on specific pool configurations and governance-approved settings, such as those expanded by Proposal 100 in July, which direct a portion of trading charges to the protocol.

Despite the sustained volume, the UNI governance token traded near $6.21, reflecting a 2% decline during the latest session. Market analysts note that rankings in the decentralized finance sector remain fluid, as the protocol's lead depends on specific measurement methodologies that exclude perpetual futures and focus exclusively on spot token swaps.
