Finastra and Komgo Integrate Platforms to Digitize Trade Finance

London-based software provider Finastra and digital trade specialist Komgo have formed a strategic partnership to eliminate the manual, data-intensive friction currently plaguing global trade finance. By linking their respective platforms, the companies aim to provide banks and corporate clients with a more cohesive, automated, and transparent ecosystem.

Finastra and Komgo Integrate Platforms to Digitize Trade Finance

The collaboration centers on the Trade Innovation Nexus, Finastra’s open API layer, which will now connect Komgo’s Konsole platform directly with Finastra’s Trade Innovation software. This integration allows financial institutions to modernize their workflows without the need to overhaul existing infrastructure. The move addresses the chronic fragmentation in trade finance, where disjointed systems often lead to operational bottlenecks.

Baptiste Audren, Chief Revenue Officer at Komgo, noted that while digital trade increases global commerce efficiency, it often introduces new layers of complexity. By embedding Komgo’s multi-bank network into Finastra’s client base, the firms intend to reduce transaction times and manual exceptions. Vinay Mendonca, head of trade finance at Finastra, emphasized that the shift toward open, connected technologies is critical for institutions looking to provide more agile services. Beyond speed, the integration promises improved regulatory compliance, automated audit readiness, and enhanced risk management tools for all participants.
