Blockchain.com adds TRX options with $5 minimum entry
Blockchain.com has integrated TRON (TRX) into its options trading platform, allowing users to purchase call and put contracts with a minimum $5 premium. The service, which operates bilaterally with the company's BVI entity as the sole counterparty, remains inaccessible to residents of the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.

The TRX integration follows an October 20 launch announcement that introduced a seven-asset options lineup, including Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana. These contracts are cash-settled and European-style, requiring users to hold USDC in their Trading Accounts to fund purchases upfront. Contracts are fixed upon execution, meaning positions cannot be sold or closed before their expiration, which is currently capped at one week.
Blockchain.com acts as the principal in every transaction rather than a broker, a structure that removes the need for exchange-traded order books but also limits regulatory protections. Because these derivatives are settled directly between the user and Blockchain.com (BVI) II Limited, the company explicitly warns that the service lacks the oversight typical of licensed financial products. Profitability for the user depends on the final payout exceeding the combined cost of the premium and applicable settlement fees.
Beyond the geographic restrictions—which extend to countries including France, Germany, and Japan—users must navigate a fee structure that includes a premium markup and a settlement charge. While the platform offers a simplified interface for selecting target prices and expiration dates, it remains a high-risk product where contracts expiring out of the money result in a total loss of the initial premium.
